Apart from Messa, I am basically 0% familiar with (non-funeral) doom at all. Maybe that is why I would call Ragana's sound kind of unique. Blending relatively somber and quiet doom elements with the fury and despair of raging black metal and emotional post-hardcore, You Take Nothing amounts to a soundscape I can completely submerge in, simultaneously relaxing and pondering about the futility of my existence. Such records are hard to find and hence very precious to me. I am stunned. David Fischer
